The restaurant's charming, historic setting offers a warm atmosphere for guests. Among the house specials, the "Riesling roasted salmon steak" stands out, with a side of mashed potatoes and seasonal vegetables. Riesling, from the vineyards of the Moselle valley, is a great source of local pride, and in the past, winegrowers used to enjoy a glass first thing in the morning to start their day's work. This light, fruity white wine is an ideal accompaniment to the fish dishes and creamy sauces for which Luxembourg cuisine is famous.

 

D'Braustuff

D'Braustuff is a brasserie-restaurant in Bascharage offering an authentic Luxembourg culinary experience. Their Sunday 'Beer'n'Brunch' concept is particularly popular, with its generous buffet of brunch classics and typically Luxembourgish hot dishes such as 'Kniddelen' and 'Gromperekichelcher'. Kniddelen - hearty flour dumplings - were once a staple dish for families from modest backgrounds. Tradition held that perfecting this dish was a mark of true culinary skill, and a sign of a successful marriage to come. Today, they are often served with smoked bacon and a creamy sauce, the rich, comforting flavours evoking meals of years gone by.

Kaell Bistro-Brasserie

Located in Warken, Kaell is a bistro-brasserie dedicated to reviving Luxembourg's rich culinary heritage. The chef presents a menu of modernised Luxembourg dishes, with weekly suggestions inspired by local seasonal produce. “Feierstengszalot", a succulent meat salad, has its origins in large village festivals, where leftover roast beef was used to avoid waste. Its vinegar and mustard dressing offers a sharp, zingy counterpoint, perfect with a slice of lightly toasted farmhouse bread.

Sigfried Bistro-Brasserie

Siegfried Bistro-Brasserie, located near the Grand Théâtre de Luxembourg, offers typical Luxembourg cuisine in a contemporary setting. The menu is a labour of love, featuring local specialities such as schnitzel, kniddelen, and a delicious bouchée à la reine. This last dish, adopted in Luxembourg, is said to have been popularised by Queen Marie Leszczynska, wife of Louis XV, who wanted a dish that was both refined and comforting. The crispy puff pastry topped with a creamy mushroom and chicken sauce is one of the signature dishes of the country's brasseries.

Koeppchen Bistro-Brasserie

Perched up on the heights of Wormeldange-Haut, Koeppchen Bistro-Brasserie offers breathtaking views over the Moselle valley. Their menu features local produce, with dishes such as the "Koeppchen Local Produce Platter", which includes Berdorf cheese, raw and cooked "Meyer" ham, Riesling pâté, sausage, and Feierstengszalot. For a long time, Berdorf cheese, which is still made using traditional methods, was used as a form of currency among farmers and merchants. This big, bold, creamy cheese is often enjoyed with a dry white wine, which serves a lively, refreshing counterpoint.

Lëbligsplaz

Lëbligsplaz is a restaurant that celebrates the richness of Luxembourg cuisine by offering traditional dishes prepared with local ingredients. Guests can enjoy specialities such as "Judd mat Gaardebounen", a smoked pork dish served with broad beans, or "Kachkéis", a traditional melted cheese served with fresh bread. Judd mat Gaardebounen has its roots in the Luxembourg countryside, where every year a pig was reared and slaughtered to provide smoked meat for the whole winter. Even today, this dish is often served at large family gatherings, accompanied by jacket potatoes, bringing out the rich, rustic flavours of a traditional cuisine.
