First of all, what exactly is tofu?
Tofu originated in China more than 2000 years ago and is a kind of "soy cheese” that’s made from curdling soy milk. It’s the same process used to make cheese, but using plant-based milk.
There are several types of tofu, including plain/firm tofu, flavoured tofu and silken tofu.
Plain tofu
- Tofu snack wrap
Drain and press  your plain tofu and cut it into cubes. Leave to marinate in soy sauce, honey and ginger. Then fry in a pan for about ten minutes. Next, prepare your wrap with your favourite ingredients.
We put in cucumbers, cherry tomatoes, grated carrots, coriander, fresh lemon juice and garlic sauce. Delicious!
- Breaded tofu burger
Drain and press your plain tofu and cut it into cubes. Dip the cubes in egg yolk and then in crushed cereal. Fry the tofu for 3 to 4 minutes. Next, prepare your burger with the ingredients of your choice.
We went for cucumber slices, goats cheese and watercress. A quick, simple and very tasty recipe!
Flavoured tofu

- Almond and sesame tofu BBQ skewers
Drain and press your almond/sesame tofu and cut it into cubes. Make your skewer, taking care to alternate pieces of tofu with slices of red onion and red pepper. Cook it on the barbecue for 5 minutes.
Then add a squeeze of lime, a little honey, some sesame seeds and flat-leaf parsley. An explosion of flavour - even the most devoted carnivores thought our skewers were delicious!
- Le tofu au curry
Drain and press your curried tofu and cut it into cubes. Fry the tofu in a pan for 5 minutes. In a wok, cook the white onions, sliced carrots, mushrooms, broccoli  and a little garlic. Then add the cooked tofu, some coconut milk, soy sauce and 3 tbsp of curry powder. Simmer for 5 minutes and enjoy!
We served this curry with quinoa.
- Greek-style smoked tofu
Drain and press your smoked tofu and cut it into strips. Dip the strips in egg yolk and then in breadcrumbs. Fry the tofu for 3 to 4 minutes. Dip your tofu in tzatziki.
We made the tzatziki ourselves. It couldn’t be simpler! Grate a cucumber and leave it to drain for half an hour. In a bowl, add crushed garlic, finely chopped mint and coriander, yoghurt, 4 tbsp olive oil and salt and pepper. Leave your tzatziki to chill in the fridge for an hour. Et voila!
Silken tofu
Silken tofu has a much more liquid texture than the other two types of tofu. It is often used in cakes, soups, sauces or smoothies. Yes, it's true and it works very well!

- Super easy chocolate pots
